Join Us for Sweep the Hooch on the Peachtree Creek Greenway!
Spring is right around the corner, and that means it’s time for one of the biggest cleanup events of the year—Sweep the Hooch! On Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 9 AM to 12 PM, we’re rolling up our sleeves to remove litter from Phase 2 of the Peachtree Creek Greenway—an area that will one day be a vibrant extension of the trail.
This is a great opportunity to make a difference, explore an undeveloped part of the Greenway, and help keep Peachtree Creek clean. But don’t wait too long—volunteer spots are limited!
What is Sweep the Hooch?
Sweep the Hooch is an annual watershed-wide cleanup event organized by Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. For 15 years, volunteers have come together to remove tons (literally!) of trash from the Chattahoochee River and its tributaries, including Peachtree Creek.
Why It Matters
Peachtree Creek plays a critical role in the local ecosystem, feeding into the Chattahoochee River and impacting water quality for thousands of people. Litter and pollution threaten wildlife, disrupt natural habitats, and create long-term environmental issues. By participating in Sweep the Hooch, you’ll be helping to protect this vital waterway while getting an early look at what will become Phase 2 of the Greenway!
